Lydia's 1st Food Experience
We started Lydia on some solids three weeks ago. She is doing much better than this video but her first response to solids was hilarious and she was not impressed.

So Different
Lydia at 3 months is a completely different kid than Noah was at 3 months. Noah was always known for his scowl....which he still does on a regular basis. Lydia is going to be known for her laughter. Her first laugh came for Grandma a couple weeks ago. I never remember Noah laughing at this age rather it took him like a year. Lydia on the other hand, she wakes up laughing, sits in a room by herself laughing, looks at us or toys and laughs. She is so stinkin cute!

Sword Dancer
With an almost 2 year old life is always an adventure and first hand comedy show. Noah found his birthday present from Dad early when he ventured out the garage on his own. He likes to hit things with his foam swords but also likes to do his "sword-dance"

Noah's Official First Birthday
Little Bean turned one on December 21st. It was a very eventful day. It started off with us finding out Noah is going to be a big brother and ended up in St. Cloud with Annie in labor with the twins. However, all action ceased at midnight with no twins. Noah had a great day with his awesome giraffe cake, presents, and lots of friends.

Helland House Chaos
Because we felt that we were not busy enough with a baby and studying for the bar, we added to our family two weeks ago. Meet Pipin, another cute yet yappy yorkie. He was Brian's parents dog that they gave to a special needs lady to be her companion dog when they had to move into a rental and could not keep him. The lady did well with him at first but soon it was apparant that she could not care for him. He then went to live with another family in our neighborhood, but they felt he was too much for them. (ie. they didn't want to take time and train him) Rather than putting him into yet another attempted home we decided to let him stay here while we work on his dominance issues and potty-training. And for now Brian wants to keep him. I am not so sure about that. Three dogs is a lot. We are not talking about a senior dog and a couple others, rather we have a four year old and two three year olds, meaning that we will have a full dog house for a LONG time. He gets along well with Noah who laughs histarically at him. Hudson and him fight over who gets to be close to me while I'm studying. And Jamba is in love because she has a new playmate. Now that Jamba is on medication and feeling much better we have doggy wrestling matches again. For some reason all three feel the need to be in the small living room wrestling when Noah is on the floor with an adult playing, so it definately feels cramped some times. Anyhow here is a video of the Helland House Chaos on a typical day!

Everything Goes In the Mouth
Noah figured out his hand to mouth coordination today. He's been working on getting his hand and thumb into his mouth for a week or so now. Last night he took Brian's finger put it in his mouth and starting gnawing away. Today after his morning bath he was grabbing the towel and was shoving it into his mouth. Then tonight Brian was out and Noah and I were home alone. I was working on a paper and he was in his swing. He started to get fussy so I brought him Mr. Giraffe, his favorite stuffed animal to hold under his arm and a new rattle. His first rattle ever. I put them in his hands and arms and went back to typing away. All of a sudden I heard the rattle. I turned around and looked and he was waving it in the air. Then he shoved a little part of it in his mouth and began chewing on it. I grabbed the camera and got this video (although its sideways)! He is getting so big.
